Seminar: LINDAMOOD BELL SERIES - Seeing Stars® Symbol Imagery for Phonological and Orthographic Processing in Reading and Spelling

The Nancibell® Seeing Stars® (SI™) program develops symbol imagery: the ability to visualize sounds and letters in words for both phonological and orthographic processing. Students move through a series of steps from single consonants/vowels to multisyllabic and contextual reading to develop the imagery-language connection for competency in written language.

The two-day Seeing Stars® (SI™) workshop focuses on helping students develop symbol imagery for written language. Through a series of steps, SI students learn to visualize sounds and letters in words, thereby improving phonological and orthographic processing in both receptive and expressive written language. All steps of the program are introduced, practiced, and modelled.

Speaker: Brilliana Rawlins

Brilliana Rawlins has worked in education for nearly 20 years. Her background is in math education at the secondary level. Brilliana has been with Lindamood-Bell for 14 years and has engaged in professional development in over 40 states and 5 countries, training thousands of educators in the research-validated programs authored by Lindamood-Bell’s founders. She has facilitated a wide range of initiatives, including Special Education grants, second language acquisition, and dyslexia law implementation. As the Manager of International Endeavors, Brilliana collaborates with educators from around the globe on a daily basis. She currently lives in Reno, Nevada, USA.
