Full-Day Workshop

Seminar: Pre-Writing Hand Development: An Integrated Perspective

We will take an in-depth look at the development of fine motor skills and specific novel ways to support and improve them. This will include engaging participants in making some useful hand manipulative items/activities as well as delving into recent research and resources. This will NOT be looking at handwriting programs, of which there are many, but taking a more global approach to hand development and its important relationship to many aspects of development.

Participants will explore and analyze manipulative items to determine their unique value in supporting fine motor skill development. They will come to understand how hand development and basic fine motor skills contribute to life long well being.
