Dolph Oh

Dolph Oh is a passionate and dedicated Special Educator with over 30 years of experience in the field of Special Education, specializing in the use of Music, Movement and Dance (MMD) to support individuals with diverse needs.
Throughout his career, he has conducted creative arts sessions for children and young adults with special needs in variety of setting, including Special Education Schools and residential homes. His interactive and engaging MMD programmes are carefully designed to promote communication, sensory integration, emotional expression and social connection.
In addition to working with children and young adults, he has also led Music & Movement sessions for the elderly in eldercare homes, using music as a power tool to enhance quality of life and cognitive engagement.
He has also led numerous workshops across special schools, equipping educators with practical, inclusive strategies to engage diverse learners through rhythm, creativity and movement.
He holds training in Special Education, Creative Music Therapy and Orff-Schulwerk method, and blends various pedagogies to create sensory-rich and developmentally appropriate activities. His sessions are highly interactive, focusing on joyful expression, emotional regulation and building social connections through arts.
Dolph’s mission is to empower educators to use the arts not just as a teaching tool, but as a bridge to communication, confidence and compassion for every learner – regardless of ability.
Course Outline
- Activities of Creative Music & Movement with Songs selection.
- Creative Music & Movement using props: fuzzy the clown, paper plate, sensory and therapy band, parachute with light balls and rainbow bear.
- Creative dance with self-exploration through music.
- Relaxation music activities with rain-sticks, ocean drum, thunder drum, mini-cymbals and bubbles.
- Activities of playing un-tune and tune percussion instruments.
- Simple and easy way of introducing and playing body-percussion, un-tune and tune percussion instruments.
- Playing un-tune and tune percussion instruments with songs.
- Orff Schwerk method of introducing nursery rhyme/songs.
- Activity analysis: how to carry out music activities using Orff Schwerk approach from reading, saying, singing, body percussion, playing un-tune and tune percussion instruments to dancing.
- Simple practical exercises
Course Objectives
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Select songs for Music & Movement activities.
- Use different props: fuzzy the clown, paper plate, sensory and therapy band, parachute with light balls and rainbow bear to conduct Music & Movement activities.
- Create simple dance movement with self-exploration through music.
- Conduct music relaxation activities.
- Conduct simple playing body-percussion, un-tune and tune percussion instruments.
- Play un-tune and tune percussion instruments with songs.
- Conduct activity analysis using Orff Schwerk approach that break down
- reading, saying, singing, body percussion, playing un-tune and tune percussion instruments and dancing.
- Plan and implement basic singing, body percussion, playing instruments and dancing activities using Orff Schwerk approach.
