This session will explore how behavior challenges often stem from unmet communication, sensory, or emotional needs—and how simple, effective visual supports can help. We’ll look at the reasons behind common behavior concerns in autistic and other neurodivergent students, then dive into practical tools that educators and therapists can use to reduce overwhelm, support regulation, and improve understanding. From sensory signals to emotional check-ins to tools that clarify expectations, you’ll see real-life examples of how to use visuals to prevent problems and respond when challenges come up. You’ll leave with practical strategies to reduce confusion, support regulation, and help students follow routines, manage transitions, and meet behavior expectations more independently.
